Sousa Celebrates Veterans Day
The
Patchogue Theatre Symphonic Band celebrates Veteran’s Day with another
stirring concert in the tradition of John Philip Sousa. John Philip Sousa
(1854-1932) was an American composer and conductor known particularly for
American military and patriotic marches such as “The Star and Stripes
Forever”. In the 1920’s, John Philip Sousa, known as “The March King” played
right here at the Patchogue Theatre on July 23, 1923 and a year later June
23, 1924.
Come celebrate his unique music played from the
original scores by a symphonic band very much like his own. The 60 piece
Patchogue Theatre Symphonic Band is conducted by Professor Dr. Peter
Boonshaft and features many accomplished musicians. You will enjoy all the
familiar marches and many melodies that spark the patriotic note in any ones
heart.
Come young; come old, come everyone to a Veteran's
Day celebration you won’t soon forget.
